Enquirer: KY bridge bill close to death in Senate

The bill that would allow private entities to take part in major public works projects such as the Brent Spence Bridge is on its last legs in the General Assembly as it has been killed in committee.

The controversial measure that would allow the use of tolls to fund the $2.6 billion Brent Spence Bridge project appears to be on its last breath in the Kentucky General Assembly...

"Nothing is ever dead until the final gavel of sine die (the last official day of the session later this month)," said Senate President Robert Stivers, R-Manchester. "But it would have a rough road to hoe in the last four days."
