Business Courier: Officials, business leaders unite to block Brent Spence Bridge tolls

Current and former elected officials and business people in Northern Kentucky have formed a group with a rather potent name to oppose tolling on a new Brent Spence Bridge.

Called “No BS Tolls,” the group includes both the Northern Kentucky Democratic League and the Northern Kentucky Tea Party, former Kentucky education secretary Joe Meyer, Covington city commissioner Steve Frank, Servepro, Toebben Companies, Bavarian Waste and the Independent Business Association of Northern Kentucky.

“The economic impact of tolls on Northern Kentucky will be devastating to our hardworking families and small businesses,” Meyer said in a news release.

Two-thirds of the traffic on the bridge consists of Kentucky residents traveling back and forth, so they would bear the majority of the costs.
