Down-state politicians seem prepared to force tolls on the Brent Spence Bridge whether we want it or not. They dismiss our united opposition, even though many of them have argued against tolls for their own constituents.

Rep. Leslie Combs (D- Pikeville) is the most recent addition to the “tolls for thee, but not for me” Caucus. When asked about Northern Kentucky’s opposition she responded: “they’ve had their day in court.”

Really? What a short memory Rep. Combs seems to have.

She spent most of last year arguing against tolls for her own constituents. The $750 million Mountain Parkway project was delayed in order to avoid tolls. Rep. Combs wants the project “done the right way” so it does not “burden people with tolls.”

Don’t we deserve the same consideration here in Northern Kentucky?

Tell Rep. Combs how you feel about the plan to force tolls on Northern Kentucky.
